Bark Park

All dogs love Costa Mesa’s Bark Park

The Costa Mesa Bark Park is an open to the public “dog park” just off the 55 Newport Beach Freeway. Bark Park is fenced off and designed for owners to let their dogs run leash-free so master and dog can socialize.

Costa Mesa Bark ParkThere are two sections: one for large dogs (this is the biggest area) and the second is for small dogs (a smaller area but plenty of room).

Additionally, their are lots of random tennis balls on the ground that anyone can use to start up a game of fetch with any random Fido that happens to be nearby. A dog is NOT required to enjoy the park so drop by, scratch a few heads, and shake a few paws!

Each sectioned off area also has water spigots and basins so the pet owners can offer their pooch a cool drink of water after running and playing with all of its new found friends.

Dog lovers bring their pooches from all around Costa Mesa and Newport Beach. I have even met individuals from as far as Riverside. I believe they were just visiting family.

As one can see, the Bark Park is not just for dogs, it is for humans as well.

Many dog owners come to socialize just as their pets are! The park designers showed great forethought in designing the separation of the two dog-size sections. No one wants to visit the park only to have a bad experience as the result of a dog socialization “challenge.”

I wonder how much fun a cat owner can have if they cannot take their pet out to socialize :)
