Fairview Park

Fairview Park is a expansive cliff side public park on the very edge of Costa Mesa.

Fairview Park recently underwent a big facelift. Improved trails, large wooden log benches, informative nature preserve signage and a great staircase on the cliff! I particularly enjoy the staircase, it provides a great tool for a hard workout. A few laps around the mesa, some push-ups on the benches, and about five to seven trips up and down the stairs is a great daily workout in the fresh sea air and cool breeze.

I almost feel sorry for the masses running on treadmills like so many hamsters! Why would someone pack themselves into a stuffy, smelly gym and share workout equipment that is just as smelly? The Fairview Park is very close to major streets and easy to get to.

The parking is plentiful as well. Like any public park, the location has public restrooms, drinking fountains, large grassy areas, and picnic facilities. These are but a few of the features of the park.

The following photo is a few years old. The lower portion of the park has a newly renovated nature preserve and the entire park has experienced huge growth of trees, grass, plants, and other vegetation.

Fairview Park Costa MesaFairview Park has a huge area for running or biking.

Many of the trails are made by visitors but the main trails (originally created by visitors) have been cleared and reinforced by the public parks department.

So grab your iPod and get in shape for summer!
