The Pan Asia Mongolian BBQ restaurant is a great choice for a night out with the family, is very affordable, and one of my favorites in Orange County.
The restaurant offers different meal choices but I recommend the Build-Your-Own bowl in which you go to the buffet style bar at the back, grab a bowl, choose from a variety of veggies, meats, sauces, and spices. Once you have built your masterpiece you hand your bowl to the cook at the end of the line.
The chef cooks up your creation on a large, flat, round skillet while you watch.
Many people that experience this part of the Pan Asia Mongolian BBQ don’t realize the historical significance of what they are watching. A century ago, the Mongolian horseman (Ghengis Khan’s warriors) on the plains and mountains of Asia, at meal time, were given a ration of sliced meat, veggies, and oil. They would use their swords and cook the food in their shield over a camp fire similar to what you experience at Pan Asia!
Pan Asia Mongolian BBQ does have owners that are proud of their heritage.
The establishment is adorned with pictures and artwork depicting Mongolian horseman, the menus have a brief historical account of the Khan’s men, and the general theme of the restaurant is very Asian.
The Pan Asia Mongolian BBQ is tucked in a small shopping center on 17th street and is easy to miss. You are doing yourself and your family a major disservice by missing this establishment. So dear reader, do not pass it by!
This is not the only Mongolian bbq restaurant in Orange County but it is one of the best!
