Tips On Choosing Sun Protection
With so many different products out there, how do you know which sunscreen to choose? These guidelines should help:
* Always look for a sunscreen with the highest protection factor that you can find. Each year the SPF factors creep up, so be sure to take a good look at what is on the store shelves. And why is this important? A higher SPF factor does not necessarily ensure that you can stay out in the sun longer, it simply means that you have a little more protection if you have not applied an adequate amount. Unfortunately, very few people use the recommended amount. Always try to remember a teaspoon for your face and a tablespoon for each arm or leg.
* It’s also important to read the tube. It should clearly state that the formulation offers protection against the burning (UVB) rays and the aging (UVA) rays.
* You should also look for an expiration date and after opening the tube, try to use it up within the year. It’s better to be safe than sorry.
* It is a good idea to look for a waterproof sunscreen. Unfortunately, most people forget to re-apply when they leave the pool until it’s too late. This can also be the case with sweating on an extremely hot day.
* Ski holidays are different still. Look for sunscreens that state that they are for higher altitudes.
